FAQ
Green Star Polyps are an easy soft coral that does well with just adequate conditions. They do well with moderate to strong water flow and moderate to high light (100 – 250 par). However, they are pretty hardy and will adapt to most reasonable conditions making them an excellent beginner coral.
The possible problem with Green Star Polyps is that they can do too well and start to take over expanding further than you want. That may be a good thing if that is your desire. For example, you could cover the side or back glass of your tank with them. Many reefers use them as a background to other things and, in this regard, they are excellent as they don’t need much attention and continue to do well. If you want to include Green Star Polyps but keep them a bit more controlled, you can put them on a rock that is unconnected to the remainder of your reef keeping them from spreading further than you want.
Water Chemistry: Nitrates 5 – 10, Phosphate 0.05 -0.1, Alkalinity 8 – 9, and Calcium 400 – 450.
The picture is the exact coral you will receive (WYSIWYG).
